Welcome
As Jesus guides all who gather to discover and learn,
"Ask and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
the people of God at Our Saviours Evangelical Lutheran Church, warmly welcome you to worship, learning, music and community. and to join with us in our ever-deepening discovery of the presence of God among us, that is the light of the world, the resurrection and the life, the Alpha & Omega, the love of God made manifest in Jesus Christ our Lord.
No matter where you are in your journey of faith and life, this community seeks to provide for you a sanctuary, where the doors are fully open, where questions may be safely explored, where new and true friendships and community may be found along your way. We welcome you to share in our traditions, and to teach us yours. We invite you to join us in Worship, Bible Study, and Fellowship. If you are exploring Christianity, we invite you to explore our new Alpha program, a safe place for seeking and discovering, in small groups, what Christianity is all about.
I would be pleased to introduce and explore with you further the ministries of the church and its larger expression, the ELCA. Please feel welcome to just come to the church, or if you like, give me a call.
The Rev. Kendall B. Summers, Pastor

Giving Up Something, So We Can Give
The ELCA website this month, features a coffee cup and the title "Pastor pledges to give up buying coffee for Lent and to give the money to Haiti."
Although it sure is tempting to avoid that question at Lent, "what are you going to give up" by smugly shrugging one's shoulders, but it is an excellent question for us. Lent is about spiritual disciplines, and especially about recognition that the devil
tempts away from the life-giving practices of our faith. The disciplines of lent are good and meant to make us stronger. They make us face up to the reality of temptation and to confess our sin. By pledging to give up something for Lent we challenge ourselves to let go of the material addictions that bind us, so that we may as disciples of Christ be free to give and to love.
So, what are you going to give up for Lent?
Lent is a time for spiritual discipline.
